SE1 United is the annual host of the Youth Oskars, an event that celebrates the achievements of young people. The event is an opportunity to acknowledge and encourage the outstanding efforts of young people across London and was the brain child of Jack Goldfinch who set up the first show aged 16 years old.

The Youth Oskars makes it possible for young people to set an example to their peers and grow into responsible representatives of their communities. By encouraging positive gains for individuals, we reap positive gains for communities and by spreading this positivity we build better boroughs for a better London. Twenty London youth groups will nominate an exceptional young person to receive a Youth Oskar Award and change the perception that young people are not positive members of our society. 10 local young people aged 15-17 years old have set this prestigious event up, for young people by young people.

There will be performances from the motivational speaker Richard, known for the ‘Here with Richard Tour’ who encourages people to think optimistically and step into their greatness. Big Tipper, up and coming comedian and artist who has recently released the single AUNTY and is a house hold name in the young comic scene. STP, “Struggle To Proceed”, a growing Urban Afro beats group established in 2012. Project G, a vibrant female dance crew who previously performed on Got to Dance, who promote upbeat vibes through dance and much more. DJ P Montana will be taking us by storm at the after party!

SE1 United have nominated Sky Academy, Princes Trust, Virgin Media Pioneers  just to name a few to win a Youth Oskar within the Champions for Youth category.

“The Youth Oskars Awards will be the place to be this Friday. Come and enjoy a warm welcome, a night full of fun, enjoyment and achievement. Yesterday is a memory for us to celebrate. Today is a gift for us to enjoy and tomorrow is a dream. Think big and make your optimism a reality.” Jesse Johnson – SE1 United Member
